Flynn Plumbing and Gasfitting

Flynn Plumbing and Gasfitting Ltd is a family company, owned and operated by local Chris Flynn. 

Born and raised in Pukekohe, Chris completed his Plumbing and Gasfitting apprenticeship while working for a local Pukekohe plumbing company.   

After previously co-owing their own plumbing and gasfitting company, Chris' parents Patrick and Diane Flynn are working closely within the company, helping to grow a sustainable business and provide advice and business knowledge.

We specialise in prompt, reliable, quality service within the Franklin community.  Both Chris and Patrick have extensive knowledge in all areas of plumbing and gasfitting, and are happy to help you throughout your project to find the best, affordable solution.

Drainformers

Here at Drainformers we are a family run business, with both myself (Josh) and my wife (Marlies) being involved on a day to day basis.  I have always enjoyed the physical work, so I am not just running  everything from my office but am hands on with my team working onsite everyday. As of 2020 we have been in business for 16 years.

We cover a range of work, from small subdivisions to larger projects including rural to urban housing, and everything involved with stormwater and sewer drainage. 

Not only are we a family run business with my wife and I being owner/operators, but our team are also family.  Fred is Marlies' brother and Jake is my brother. This works well for us, as we all have a personal interest in maintaining a high standard of work and appearance. 

Marlie and I have been married for 14 years this year.  We live in rural Tuakau on 12 acres, which has given our kids the opportunity to grow up with the work ethic that country life teaches. We have six children (five girls and a boy) ranging from 12 down to one and we all enjoy surfing and hiking together.

Blankspace Architectural

Blank Space Architectural Ltd is a Pukekohe based architectural design practice, founded in 2010 by Architectural Designer/ Director Puka and wife Kim.

Puka has over 16 years of experience in the architectural field and works mainly within the residential sector.

With Puka’s extensive local experience and knowledge he is committed to providing innovative and creative, yet practical design solutions.

Puka has been a professional member of ADNZ (Architectural Designers New Zealand) since 2012 and a licensed building practitioner – Design 2.

The team at Blank Space Architectural are an enthusiastic group with a depth of experience who are client focused and want to provide the best outcome for each individual client they deal with.

Outside of work Kim and Puka manage their busy household of four young children and many family pets.

GS Bricklayers

Born and bred in South Auckland, Gavin Smith started GS Bricklayers in 1994 with a small experienced team.

Now after 25 years in the residential bricklaying industry he and his expanded team of qualified bricklayers and apprentices build quality, beautiful New Zealand homes that stand the test of time.   

Being a family man myself I place the highest value on the strength, quality and appealing look of a home.  It's a rewarding thing to see homes around Franklin and wider Auckland that I built myself two decades ago still looking great today.

Howard Construction

Paul Howard’s involvement in the building industry in Auckland spans more than 30 years, giving him a wealth of experience in construction locally.  Beginning his career as an apprentice with a well-respected Pukekohe building company, he moved on to form Howard Construction in 2006, specialising in residential homes, from small in-fill projects to large multi-million architectural projects Auckland wide.  Although experienced in the commercial sector, Paul loves the start-to-finish nature of residential and has developed a reputation for his high quality builds and well managed sites, resulting in several Master Builders Awards under the umbrella of various building companies he has contracted to. These projects, along with a large site management role in many Pokeno and Pukekohe builds means Paul brings a wealth of knowledge of the local people, suppliers, sub-contractors and city council regulations to any project he takes on.   

Howard Construction has remained a small family business by choice, and Paul’s family ethic is mirrored in his hobbies. Paul and wife Nic have three children of tertiary age and when not working you’ll find him in the outdoors with some or all of them. Whether it’s walking the dog with his daughter or tramping the hills with one of his sons, Paul loves the outdoors and takes every chance to enjoy it when he can.  Having recently completed his ‘dream home’ on the outskirts of Pukekohe, Paul is enjoying the local area and looks forward to working with Bru and the Homes By Nest team to construct quality homes for their many happy customers.

Phd Electrical

Hi my name is Pete, I’m the owner of PHD Electrical along with my brother Dan.  I live locally with my wife and two young children.  I have vast experience in this field, beginning my electrical apprenticeship in 1997 and then later starting PHD Electrical in 2005.  Since creating PHD Electrical, we have worked hard to ensure that we have the most up to date knowledge around new systems and technology.  Due to this we are skilled in other areas including but not limited to; new housing, data, lighting, and security systems such as cameras and alarms.  We are also experienced in A/V systems, electric gates, and automation.  We pride ourselves in being a complete wiring solution and giving our customers one point of contact for all of their wiring needs.

Helen is married to Colin and has always lived in the area. Their children share the family love of houses and good design, Holly is a chef and Callum a builder. Colour, texture, and fabric are Helen's passion, and this is reflected in her love of turning dreams into reality for her clients.

Faye is a guru when it comes to curtains and blinds. Knowing exactly what style of window coverings is going to suit each window while keeping it practical. She is married to Creeth and is mum to Hannah and grandma to Leo.

Morag is the office super star. Along with her husband Andrew and their two children, Lachlan, and Illa, they have recently moved into their dream home. She keeps anything office related in check and up to date and makes all the appointments for the team.

Brodie served his time as a carpenter, started while still at high school two days a week and the holidays, worked on all manner of projects, high end, villa renovations, civil works and commercial, now specializes in one area which is where he has found his calling as a certified Velux installer. Covering Auckland, Waikato and Coromandel, a very rare boutique family operation of Brodie and his wife Sasha, who runs the office administration side of the buisness.

Birch Surveyors

Birch Surveyors was first established by Kevin Birch in Pukekohe in 1989, following in his father, Sir William Birch’s, footsteps who had earlier established a Surveying business in Pukekohe in 1957.  The company grew from humble beginnings to a team of 25 in 2020 with branches in Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga. The head office remains at 2a Wesley Street, Pukekohe.

The backbone of the Company has always been a team of qualified hardworking Surveyors who bring together key skills in the disciplines of Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, and Land Use Planning with the addition of qualified Planners and Engineers we have been able to widen our areas of expertise, but our focus remains on subdivision.

The Company has grown around core values of integrity, reliability, innovation and constant improvement which have helped define the direction and growth of the company and led to the adoption of an ISO registered quality system.

The Birch family have been part of the Pukekohe and Franklin community since 1956.
